The International Dance Association of San Diego County is a
non-profit organization sponsored by the San Diego Park and Recreation
Department, and is dedicated to promoting and encouraging dancing as a social
recreation for the public.
IDA Member Clubs
The member clubs listed in this brochure are proud to be part
of the many activities available in Balboa Park. We encourage you to attend a
class, enjoy fun, easy and inexpensive exercise, meet new friends, and take
advantage of the wonderful facilities of Balboa Park. Classes are available for
beginner and experienced dancers and all clubs welcome new dancers.
Partners are not needed; singles and couples are welcome.
Academy of Highland Dance
- Scottish Highland dancing. Special emphasis on children
5-12 years.

Balboa Park Dancers - Ballroom Dancing
- Classes in waltz, fox trot, tango, cha-cha, swing & other
ballroom and social dances.
- Friday, 6:45-9:50 p.m. & Sunday, 6:45-9:20 p.m., Balboa
Park Club.
- Admission: $3.00 for members, $4.00 for non-members.

Bon Temps Social Club Cajun & Zydeco Dancers
- Teaching and enjoying Cajun and Zydeco dancing as done in
Louisiana, Texas and the world!
- 2nd Saturdays we're normally at the War Memorial Building
with a live band (subject to different room).
Event is from 6:30-10:30pm and costs $14 for guests and
visitors, $12 for IDA, Jazz 88.3 and BTSC members (must show ID) .
- Tio Leo's in Linda Vista Tuesdays 7 - 10:30 p.m, with lesson.
First visit is free, additional visits are $5.

Lessons at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. followed by open dancing
with a D.J.

May 22 - 25, 2009: Statewide 2009 Folk Dance
Festival
Featuring workshops with Yuliyan Yordanov of
Bulgaria teaching Bulgarian dances, and Viviana C. Enrique Acosta teaching
Mexican couple dances.
Parties with live music and performances every evening. Costumes, vendors
galore.
This will be the first time this statewide festival has been held in San
Diego in 10 years!
